The best week of the golfing world just came to an end. In fact, it came to an end in an extremely surprising way. Once the most likely to take home the trophy, Tiger Woods seemed to spend a good amount of the tournament hitting through the trees. While the up and coming Jordan Spieth dominated the tournament from start to finish.

Jordan Spieth, at a ripe 21 years of age, is the newest Masters Champion. Yesterday he took home not only one of the most coveted green jackets in the world of golf, but also a new found respect from his golfing peers. Spieth set new Masters records for the 36 and 54 hole split. He is also the first player ever in the Masters to reach 19 under par, while also taking home the record of hitting the most birdies in the Masters tournament.

Phil Mickelson made a comeback in the final round on Sunday, ending the tournament in a second place tie with Justin Rose. Rose and Mickelson ended the tournament 14 under par on Sunday. Mickelson had a strong finish, which seems to be a promising start as the final three major golf tournaments are approaching.

At this year’s Masters, both Mickelson and Spieth displayed that golf is not dependent on age; but on skill. Whether you are 21 or 50, you too can become an excellent golfer (who knows you may even end up at The Masters!).
