It is very hard to believe that 1990 was 25 years ago! 1990 was a very exciting year for us, as it was the year that The Oaks Course was renovated back into a working, 18-hole course! It was in August of 1990 that our front 9-holes were re-opened; our back nine finished renovations in October of 1990. Thanks to those renovations, The Oaks has been one of the most pristine golf courses in Georgia for 25 years.
The original golf course first conceived in the 1930’s belonged to the Bibb Manufacturing Company located in Porterdale. Unfortunately, the course remained in dormancy for most of the 1980’s. It was in 1989, that the land was purchased by a group of buyers who began renovations to make the beautiful Oaks Course into what we know it as today.
Yesterday was the first day of our 25th Anniversary celebration, which will continue throughout the rest of the year. Our celebration will consist of different offers, deals and contests.
