EWGA

November is the season of thanks and what better way to say “thank you” for the prosperous year, than to give? This year, The Oaks of Covington is partnering with the Executive Women’s Golf Association for our “Thanks for Giving” canned food drive. Starting now, through the 23rd of November, you can bring your canned food items to the Oaks Pro Shop and donate to a family in need.

All of your donations will go directly to Action Ministries, a non-profit organization founded in 1963. Their mission is to eradicate poverty in the state of Georgia through education, housing and hunger relief. By meeting these basic needs, Action Ministries has broken down the barriers of poverty and alleviate local Georgia families from its almost impenetrable cycle. Action Ministries believes that by providing the basics of human necessity (food, mental therapy, housing, etc.) the human spirit becomes a resilient force, capable of reaching their fullest potential.

But, they can’t provide all of these wonderful gifts alone. Action Ministries is in need of volunteers and supplies. That’s why The Oaks and the EWGA have partnered together for our “Thanks for Giving” food drive. Local families are in desperate need of peanut butter, jelly, canned or packaged tuna, canned stew and canned fruit. Give the gift of food by bringing these canned goods to The Oaks from now until November 23rd. Help a local family celebrate Thanksgiving and lend a helping hand to members of our community.

Remember, tis the season of thanks for a great 2016. Show your thanks by giving! Bring your peanut butter, jelly, canned tuna, canned stew, and canned fruit to the Oaks today!
