Karen's Korner: Happy Father's Day

Father’s Day is coming up and I think about the childhood memories I have of my Dad. On Sunday afternoons, my family would ride the dirt roads of Newton County and pick up empty coke bottles on the side of the road. Those days were special to me because we all would get to sit in his lap and drive. Coke bottles brought good money in those days. My family would sell the empty glass bottles and go to Panama City Beach every summer on vacation.

I write about this because we at the Oaks Course wish every Dad a “Happy Fathers Day”. If your Dad is no longer living, please take a moment to remember a special memory, I promise it will put a smile on your face. If you are looking for a memorable time with Dad, head to The Oaks Course on Sunday, June 17 from 2pm to 6pm for our Father’s Day Fish and Play. REGISTER HERE. Then on Saturday, June 30th we will once again have “Family Putt-Putt” golf night. The putt-putt is “FREE” and so are the memories. We will have hotdogs, snacks and drinks to purchase. It will be a “BLAST”. Too bad we can’t sell the bottles anymore.
