Karens Corner- Fall Break at The Oaks Course

I was sitting on my porch today watching every leaf and kid in my neighborhood falling in my yard whether they belonged to me or not. I forgot that is was fall break in Newton County. Every child in Newton County is out of school this week. I could swear that most of them were at my house and the least they could do was rake all the leaves they were bringing in from their homes. I guess that is asking a little too much.

Do you have the same situation at your house? I have the answer for you. Bring them to The Oaks golf course and let them hit a few golf balls on the driving range or practice their putting on the practice green. All kids have a great imagination and for just a little while, they can pretend to be Tiger Woods. The best part of childhood is dreaming of what they will someday be.

We have watched a lot of kids grow up on The Oaks Course in the last 24 years and it still amazes me when one of them walks in the door and my eyes see and adult, but my heart still sees the child.
