A Golf Tip From The Oaks Course!

It is no secret that The Oaks Course loves to help golfers get better at their golf game. One of the ways we love to do that is with Gary Miller. Gary Miller, our resident golf professional, brings knowledge through tips and lessons that are exclusive to The Oaks Course. Mr. Miller has agreed to share 15-second tips every week that are available to all! This week’s tip has to do with your putting stroke.

Your putting stroke is one of the most important things to master in the game of golf. With about one-third of your strokes in golf being putts – having a strong putting stroke can make or break your golf game. Thus, this week our golf professional Gary chose to give a quick tip about putting!

In this 15-second tip, Gary Miller shows us a technique that pinpoints using your shoulders during your putting stroke. Using your shoulders during a putting stroke gives you better control of your shot, which will allow you to control how hard you hit the ball each time. With this technique, the ball will follow the same, straight line each time you make a putt while playing golf.

By relying on your shoulders, you will remain more relaxed as you putt. If you are in a high-stress situation, using your shoulders will help you stay calm and more focused. Using your shoulders in a putting stroke is a much more efficient alternative to using your hands or your wrists. Take a second, or 15, to watch The Oaks Course tip on putting.
