Karens Corner- Cooler Corn Recipe

Cooler CornTailgating is one of America’s favorite pass times. There is always a reason to tailgate! It can be a sporting event or even just a community gathering. One of the best things about tailgating is enjoying the company of family, friends and maybe even strangers who share a common interest. Personally, my favorite thing about tailgating is getting to eat all of my favorite outdoor and barbequed foods.

Tailgating foods are better when they can be quickly prepared and eaten with little or no mess.  No one likes to spend extra time cleaning up! Our amazing Chef Kevin has a recipe that will have your taste buds screaming for more. The recipe is called “Cooler Corn”. It takes very little preparation and doesn’t need many supplies! To make Cooler Corn all you will need is a cooler with closeable lid, shucked corn on the cob, boiling water, and maybe even a few of your favorite spices like salt and pepper.

First, you place shucked corn on the cob in the bottom of cooler. Next, you add enough boiling water into the cooler to fully submerge the corn. Then, you let the corn sit in the cooler for 30 minutes with the lid closed. If desired you can add your favorite spices before you close the lid. Adding spices will give your corn a little extra kick.

After the 30 minutes is over the corn should be fully cooked and able to be enjoyed. Once the corn is done you can serve it with your favorite tailgating food like wings or another favorite grilled meat. We hope this recipe adds a little kick to your next tailgate. Who knows, maybe that tailgate will be our All American Tailgate event on July 18th
