Wedding Traditions at The Oaks Course
The Oaks Course is much more than just a place for playing golf. It can also be an elegant wedding venue. Seeing our clubhouse transformed into a wedding venue is one of my favorite parts about working here at The Oaks Course. Some families love the transformation so much that multiple members get married here!
That’s what the Ogburn family chose to do. Sammy and Anna Ogburn had their wedding reception at The Oaks on October 17th, 2005 in the Champions room. 9 years later, Sammy's sister Jennifer Ogburn married Chris Gyles and had their wedding reception at The Oaks as well.
Jennifer said she and her family loved having their events here at The Oaks Course. Her family created a special tradition for the receptions at The Oaks Course. The day before the wedding, the men in the wedding would play a round of golf at The Oaks. While they were playing, the women in the party would decorate the room for the reception.
Jennifer had a beautiful reception at The Oaks Course. Her reception was black and white with purple accents. She had four dozen white hanging lanterns hung from the ceiling. The varying height of the lanterns gave them a mystical feel. In the middle of all the lanterns was a sparkling round chandelier. It was so beautiful because it reflected all the silver and white accents.
Karen at The Oaks Course remembers Jennifer’s wedding. She said, “It was a beautiful reception. We love hosting wedding receptions here. There is always a refreshing atmosphere in the air because the couple is just starting their lives together and we love being a part of that.”
