We are very proud to announce that we have hired a new golf pro at The Oaks Course! His name is Gary Miller and he is a golf fanatic. He has been in the golf business for 12 years and in 2007 he got his PGA designation.  He worked at Reynolds Plantation but now he is coming to join us at The Oaks Course.

Gary and his family have lived in Athens for 12 years. He has a wife named Ginger and two kids who are 10 and 6. His wife is a schoolteacher and she has taught basically every grade! This is her first year teaching EIP and she can’t wait to start.  Both of his kids are very active in sports, they even play golf! Gary enjoys teaching all kids golf.

He said, ‘‘the first time you see a kid hit the ball 100 yards and their eyes pop-open- I enjoy that.” We are excited to see the junior camps he starts and the young stars he will build! Gary isn’t only passionate about teaching golf! He is passionate about the sport as a whole.

Golf is a big passion of Gary’s. When asked why golf was his passion over other sports he responded, “It’s quiet and you’re in your own environment. It’s an individual sport and you don’t have to rely on a team. Also other sport fields are the same every time. Golf holes change from course to course.”

We are very excited to have Gary come work with us at The Oaks Course. Next time you come by to golf make sure to come in and introduce yourself. Make sure to be on the lookout! Soon we will be announcing events where you can meet our new golf pro.
