Ladybugs on the Greens

A lot of people admire the healthiness of our greens at The Oaks Course. We had David give some yard tips, but we thought we would give you an idea from Art Days to decorate your garden! No garden is ever complete without the perfect decoration and this one is perfect for any golfing family.

Did you have a favorite bug when you were younger? I remember I would always love to hold ladybugs in my hand. My favorite part of going out to my family garden was getting to visit the ladybugs; I would give them all individual names!

Well this simple craft will let you keep a family of ladybugs in your garden at all times!

Its simple all you need is golf balls, primer, acrylic paint, paintbrushes, and sharpies.

First you prime the golf balls with a white primer and let it dry. This will make it so the golf ball brand doesn’t show through the paint. Then with a paintbrush, you paint the whole golf ball red. Then let it dry completely. When it is dry, you can use the sharpie to draw dots, wings, and eyes.

Then when your beautiful creation is complete, you can put it out in your garden. This craft is easy enough that if you want you can share the job with your kids for a fun after school activity. They will love creating a family of ladybugs to be shown off in your yard.

If you come visit us at The Oaks Course, let us know what you named your ladybug family. We love to hear the stories you bring in to tell us!
