If you know our golf professional Gary Miller, then you know that golf is his passion. When once asked why he preferred golf to other sports he quickly responded, “It’s quiet and you’re in your own environment. Other sport fields are the same every time. Golf holes change from course to course.” He has worked in the golf industry for 12 years and received his PGA designation in 2007; this year, he is getting another exciting opportunity!

Gary has been at The Oaks Course for about a year now and this summer we are excited to announce that Gary will be representing The Oaks Course when he travels to Philadelphia to take on the 2015 Club Professional National Championship at the renowned Cricket Club, founded in 1854, from June 25^th to July 1^st. 

Mr. Miller leads all of the lessons, adult and youth, at The Oaks Course along with instructing Junior Golf Camps at The Oaks Course. He can always be found around the course with a friendly smile and a helpful tip of advice before you head out to the course for the day.

Gary is not only passionate about teaching golf, but he is passionate about golf as a whole. From watching a junior golfer hit a ball 100-yards for the first time to playing a great game on his own time – he loves golf and we love having him on the course! The next time you are on the course, be sure to wish Gary luck as he travels to Philadelphia and competes in the Club Professional National Championship!

The US Open begins today, June 15^th and will be played until June 21^st. Just as we did with the Masters, The Oaks is offering a special “Pick A Pro” day on the Saturday of the tournament, June 20^th. Heading to The Oaks on this Saturday will make you feel as if you are right in the action of the US Open where you will get to “play” with your favorite golfer in the US Open and follow their game, too!

In our Pick A Pro contest, you can pick one of the many professionals playing in the US Open tournament as your “partner.” Your score will be added to your professional’s to come up with your final score for the bracket.  If you’re looking for a fun way to follow the US Open, make sure to come join our Pick a Pro contest this Saturday or golf with us all throughout the US Open tournament! 

With the US Open being the second of the four major 2015 tournaments, all eyes are on Jordan Spieth, the 2015 Master’s Champion. If Jordan Spieth can win the US Open, he will only be two golf tournaments away from accomplishing a Grand Slam, which only five golfers have done before. At only 21 years old, he may make a great pick for your “Pick A Pro” round!

Although the US Open is located in the Pacific Northwest at Chambers Bay golf course, that doesn’t mean you can’t be in the action of this exciting tournament! All you have to do is pick your favorite professional playing in the US Open to “pair up” with, book your tee time for Saturday here, and then head to The Oaks Course for a fun day of golf as we watch the US Open together.
